It started with a dream.  A dream to give back to the community something that will exist in perpetuity – good education.  To facilitate this dream, Philippine Iino Corporation (PIC), represented by its president Mr. Sokichi Kimpara, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Education, Division of Lapu-Lapu City, represented by the Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Marilyn S. Andales, for the donation of a 4-room school building to be built in the Science and Technology Education Center (STEC), Lapu-Lapu City. 

The day’s activities culminated with the completion of the ground-breaking by pouring of concrete on the corner-stone by the officials.

This is the realization of a dream.  In six months time, the rooms will echo with the sounds of learning.  It is the fervent hope that this small act of giving will bear good fruits.  Expectations are quite high because the school is the Science and Technology Education Center, an institution filled with promising intellectually-gifted students.  This center of excellence is focused on holistic development of its students.  STEC nurtures them to become recognized in the competitive global market.

Philippine Iino Corporation is a company manufacturing precision metal parts for engines and transmission.  It is celebrating its 25^th anniversary.  More than just part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, PIC has been active in giving to schools especially under current president, Mr. Sokichi Kimpara.  This is the second school building donation after the day-care center in Marigondon.
